Brazil offers a special form of naturalization for those who have provided relevant services to the Brazilian State abroad.

Overview

Brazil offers a special form of naturalization for those who have provided relevant services to the Brazilian State abroad. This modality can also be granted to anyone who has lived in a marriage or stable union for more than five years with a member of the Brazilian Foreign Service or with a person officially designated to work outside the country on behalf of the Brazilian government. It also applies to those who have worked for more than ten uninterrupted years in a diplomatic mission or consular office in Brazil. Small interruptions, such as vacations, parental leaves, health problems or absences authorized by local labor legislation, do not invalidate the continuity of the contract. This path reflects Brazil's recognition of those who contributed to its international activities and official representation abroad.
