In Brazil, undergraduate and postgraduate diplomas obtained abroad must go through revalidation and recognition processes, respectively, to have national validity. The revalidation of undergraduate diplomas is carried out by public universities that have an equivalent course recognized by the MEC, with documentary analysis and, in some cases, tests or supplements. The recognition of master's and doctorate degrees follows specific CAPES standards and must also be done by authorized Brazilian institutions. Both processes aim to ensure that the training received abroad complies with Brazilian academic standards.
