Overview
The Certificate of Proficiency in Portuguese Language for Foreigners (Celpe-Bras), carried out by INEP, is an official Brazilian exam designed to assess language proficiency for those who do not have Portuguese as their mother tongue. Furthermore, Celpe-Bras is valid to prove proficiency in the Portuguese language in the Brazilian Naturalization process. The test consists of two parts: a written part, which includes four textual production tasks lasting up to three hours, and an oral part, which consists of a 20-minute face-to-face interaction between the participant and the evaluators. Performance on both parts determines the candidate's proficiency. The second 2024 edition of Celpe-Bras will take place from October 22nd to 25th, with registrations open from August 5th to 16th. During this period, interested parties must register through the Celpe-Bras System, indicating the country and post where they will take the tests, in addition to providing personal documents and contact details. Payment of the registration fee must be made between August 5th and 21st. After registration, there will be a period for resources and adjustments, with results of requests and resources released in August. Final exam results will be announced on December 16.
